Treatment list of hiv prep

  • Truvada

Truvada is a pre-exposure prophylactic medicine developed to lower your HIV risk. It works best in combination with safe sexual practices. But it doesn’t protect from body fluids during oral sex, so condom use is encouraged.

  • Descovy

Descovy is a daily prescription medicine taken to decrease the risk of HIV. It’s FDA-approved for those assigned males at birth with a penis, not those assigned females at birth who are at risk of HIV from vaginal sex.

  • Note: PrEP is a daily medication prescribed to HIV-negative individuals to reduce their risk of contracting HIV. By taking PrEP as directed, the chances of getting HIV from sexual activity can decrease by approximately 99% with daily use. Additionally, when taken daily, PrEP reduces the risk of HIV transmission by at least 74% for those who inject drugs.
    How It Works
    1. Answer some questions.

Help your provider get up to speed on how to best help you by answering some questions pertaining to your medical history and symptoms.

    2. Select a consultation type & a provider.

Select if you would like a live consultation or a questionnaire based consultation. Then, choose a provider that is licensed in your state of residence that you feel will best meet your needs.

    3. Receive your prescription.

If appropriate, the provider will send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.

I saw an ad for Healthvio offering PrEP and decided to try it. Sure enough, I had an appointment with an MD the next day. My 90-day supply of Truvada arrived way faster than I expected. And it was cheaper than what I was quoted elsewhere. If you’re considering PrEP, go with Healthvio!
