Healthvio offers a variety of hair loss solutions, depending on which best suits your needs. We offer the following hair loss treatment choices:

Treatment list of hair loss

  • Oral Medications

    Oral medications block DHT (a sex hormone that many people with hair loss can be sensitive to). We can prescribe the following oral medications:

    • Popecia (finasteride)
    • Dutasteride
    • Oral Minoxidil (loniten)

    Note: Finasteride has been known to cause psychological issues, so speak with your doctor to learn more about it.

  • Medicated Shampoos

    Medicated shampoos may promote hair regrowth. They can also decrease DHT buildup, improve scalp circulation, and stimulate new growth. We can prescribe the following medicated shampoos:

    • Minoxidil
    • Ketoconazole
    • Note: Each medication has its possible side effects. Most individuals find that the side effects disappear when they discontinue medication use. The hair loss treatments require careful use, consistency, and following directions.
    How It Works
    1. Answer some questions.

      Help your provider get up to speed on how to best help you by answering some questions pertaining to your medical history and symptoms.

    2. Select a consultation type & a provider.

      Select if you would like a live consultation or a questionnaire based consultation. Then, choose a provider that is licensed in your state of residence that you feel will best meet your needs.

    3. Receive your prescription.

      If appropriate, the provider will send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.

    Reasons for hair loss vary, so treatment should be unique to your particular needs. Your Healthvio will create a targeted hair loss treatment plan based on your provided information and if medically appropriate. The medication prescribed may be an oral RX, such as finasteride or dutasteride. Or your hair loss solution might include medicated shampoo, such as minoxidil or ketoconazole.

  • What causes hair loss?

    Common causes of hair loss include aging, stress, hereditary genetics, and hormonal changes. Some medical conditions can also result in hair loss like folliculitis decalvans (which causes damage to the hair follicles, preventing new hair from growing) and alopecia areata (a condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles).

  • Does Healthvio offer hair loss treatment for females?

    We do not currently offer hair loss treatment for those assigned female-at-birth.

  • What are common hair loss treatment side effects?

    The side effects of hair loss treatment can vary depending on the specific treatment being used. Some common side effects include scalp irritation/dryness/itching, decreased libido, impotence, a decrease in the amount of semen released during intercourse, increased breast size or tenderness and testicle pain or swelling.

    It is important to discuss potential side effects with your medical provider before beginning any hair loss treatment. They can help you weigh the potential benefits against the risks and decide on the best treatment plan for you.

  • What is included in the consultation fee?

    It includes a medical provider licensed in your state evaluating your Hair Loss questionnaire and creating your personalized treatment plan, and writing prescriptions. The consultation fee does not include medication(s).

    If medication is prescribed, your Healthvio provider will send the prescription(s) to a pharmacy of your choice. You will pay the pharmacy for the medication(s) and the price will depend on the pharmacy and whether you pay with insurance or out-of-pocket.
